Petition for divorceThis post serves to conclude and recap my series on issues which Las Vegas fathers face during divorce proceedings. I felt it necessary to address these topics as, while a child will always be the most important thing in a dad’s life, it is important to understand how other issues may impact one’s financial well being. The goal of my last several articles has been to provide information which will help people to better understand their situation and which will also help individuals make an informed choice when selecting an attorney. If you require assistance then contact my office today to speak with a lawyer.

I have addressed several topics of importance over my recent articles. Issues which I have analyzed include:

These are important issues for one to understand before they enter the divorce process. First, a hearing will typically be held early in the case so that the Court may put “temporary orders” in place. These orders will dictate child visitation schedules, financial responsibilities, and other issues. Any rulings the Court makes at this early stage will only be temporary. Permanent arrangements will not be decided until the parties settle or attend trial. Second, Clark County Family Court Judges will award spousal support if the situation warrants it and it is important to understand how that support is calculated. Finally, many are surprised as to how our state’s community property laws operate and one must fully understand how assets and debts will be divided.

One point I have stressed through each of these articles is that one should contact a lawyer as soon as possible if they are facing divorce proceedings. If your case is not properly handled from the outset then you face the risk of not being prepared to go to trial. As a Las Vegas fathers’ rights attorney I handle all matters related to family law and I am ready to assist you. Contact my office today.
